Carperitide is a recombinant α-human atrial natriuretic peptide, which can activate membrane-bound guanylate cyclase,increasing intracellular concentrations of guanosine 3'5'-cyclic monophosphate (cGMP), leading to vasodilation. It is indi-cated for the treatment of patients with acute heart failure (including acute exacerbation of chronic heart failure).
