Pinealon is a synthetic peptide consisting of just three amino acids in length. It has been researched for its ability to modify behaviour and protect a number of cell types against the effects of hypoxia. The synthetic tripeptide pinealon demonstrates dose-dependent restriction of reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation in cerebellar granule cells, neutrophils, and pheochromocytoma (PC12) cells, induced by oxidative stress stimulated by receptor-dependent or -independent processes.
