Triptorelin is a gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist used as the acetate or pamoate salts. By causing constant stimulation of the pituitary, it decreases pituitary secretion of gonadotropins luteinizing hormone and follicle stimulating hormone. Like other GnRH agonists, triptorelin may be used in the treatment of hormone-responsive cancers such as prostate cancer or breast cancer, precocious puberty, estrogen-dependent conditions, and in assisted reproduction. Triptorelin is marketed under the brand names Decapeptyl and Diphereline and Gonapeptyl.
Triptorelin,a decapeptide (pGlu-His-Trp-Ser-Tyr-D-Trp-Leu-Arg-Pro-Gly-NH2), is a gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRH agonist) used as the acetate or pamoate salts. By causing constant stimulation of the pituitary, it decreases pituitary secretion of gonadotropins luteinizing hormone (ЛГ) and follicle stimulating hormone (ФСГ). Like other GnRH agonists, triptorelin may be used in the treatment of hormone-responsive cancers such as prostate cancer or breast cancer, precocious puberty, estrogen-dependent conditions (such as endometriosis or uterine fibroids), and in assisted reproduction. It is also used as therapy in cases of gender dysphoria.
Triptorelin is a GNRH agaonist shown to inhibit estradiol-induced cancer cell proliferationIn vivo.
1. Triptorelin can improve the pregnancy rate by 12% к 15% in ewes6 and downregulate ovarian GNRHR-I expression of female rats, especially in late-growing follicles.
2. Triptorelin immunity blocked EET and UWT, inhibited uterine growth and development and enhance the expression levels s of ESR1, LHR, and FSHR proteins.
3. Triptorelin may be used in the treatment of hormone-responsive cancers such as breast cancer or prostate cancer, precocious puberty, estrogen-dependent conditions, and assisted reproduction.
