Theophylline CAS:58-55-9

Theophylline, also known as 1,3-dimethylxanthine, is a methylxanthine drug used in therapy for respiratory diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma under a variety of brand names. As a member of the xanthine family, it bears structural and pharmacological similarity to theobromine and caffeine. A small amount of theophylline is one of the products of caffeine metabolic processing in the liver.

1. Relaxation bronchial smooth muscle, inhibit sensitization cells release allergy neurotransmitter, spasm in at the same time, still can reduce the bronchial mucosal hyperemia and edema;
2. Small dose can enhance the forces for the heart and blood transfusions and not to speed up the heart rate;
3. Dilating coronary artery and peripheral vascular;
4. Increase the flow of blood to the kidney, improve the kidney filtration rate as diuresis function.
