Ergocalciferol, também sob o nome de vitamina D2, é um tipo de vitamina D encontrada em plantas e leveduras. Não tem atividade anti-raquítica. Ajuda o corpo a absorver cálcio e fósforo. É usado como suplemento dietético. É usado no tratamento do hipoparatireoidismo (uma condição em que o corpo não produz hormônio da paratireóide suficiente), raquitismo refratário (amolecimento e enfraquecimento dos ossos que não responde ao tratamento, também é conhecido como raquitismo resistente à vitamina D), e hipofosfatemia familiar (rickets or osteomalacia caused by an inherited condition with a decreased ability to break down vitamin D in the body). Ergocalciferol is also used as a rodenticide.

3) Vitamin D2 is used to treat acute and chronic and post-operative tetany potential disease and idiopathic tetany disease.
