Goserelin is an analog of luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) useful in the treatment of malignancies responsive to hormonal manipulation. Administered parenterally in a biodegradable depot, goserelin is reportedly as effective as orchidectomy and oophorectomy in patients with advanced prostate carcinoma and pre-menopausal breast cancer.
1. Gonadorelina to inna nazwa hormonu uwalniającego gonadotropinę (GnRH). Jest to syntetyczny dekapeptyd wytwarzany metodą syntezy peptydów w fazie stałej. GnRH is responsible for the release of follicle stimulating hormone and leutinizing hormone from the anterior pitutitary.
2. GnRH jest dostępny w postaci chlorowodorku gonadoreliny )oraz tetrahydrat dioctanu gonadoreliny do wstrzykiwań. Studies have described it being used via an infusion pump system to induce ovulation in patients with hypothalamic hypogonadism. Stosowany jest także w weterynarii w leczeniu bydła cierpiącego na torbielowatość jajników.
3. Gonadorelin is responsible for the release of follicle stimulating hormone and leutinizing hormone from the anterior pitutitary.
